For the autumn term of 2026, we are now looking for a Finnish teacher for our schools in Pajala.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Finnish teacher, you will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in the subject. The assignment includes Finnish both as an elective language and as a mother tongue. You will primarily teach students in grades 6-9.

You will:

• teach elective language groups on-site or remotely if physical teaching is not possible
• remotely teach students at other schools in the municipality
• be responsible for the usual tasks included in the teaching assignment, including planning, assessment, and documentation
• be part of a team together with educators, mentors, and resource teachers

The position may also include teaching in other subjects based on the needs of the organization. The teaching of Finnish is approximately 50 percent. The position will be arranged in consultation with the applicant.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed and qualified teacher in Finnish.

We see that you:

• have a structured working method and the ability to adapt teaching to students' needs
• are accustomed to working with digital learning platforms and have good IT skills
• use digital tools as a natural part of teaching
• have experience with Office/Teams (meritorious)
• are flexible, solution-oriented, and see collaboration as a natural part of the work
• want to develop in your profession and actively contribute to the school's collegial learning

Knowledge in special education is meritorious.

If a qualified teacher is not available, an unqualified teacher may be considered for a temporary position. This requires a high school diploma.
